Ios: Our journey began on the enchanting island of Ios, where Awake Tours had set up base at the renowned Far Out Beach Club. Far Out Ios is the place to be – every morning we woke up – quite literally a few steps across from the beach & every night we were amongst the amazing events at Far Out! People from all over the island come to Far Out to party so it was super cool to be sleeping there!
Ios exceeded all my expectations. From the renowned Mylopotas Beach to the narrow streets of Chora, this island was where it's at. It is the main party island. During the day the island is chill - we took on some watersports, tanned by the pool or beach & hired scooters & then during the nighttime it was on! Everyone usually came to Far Out First & then we caught the bus into Chora - where we partied until the stupid hours of the morning.
Santorini: Getting on the ferry & heading towards Santorini, expectations were high. The island, famous for its breathtaking sunsets and iconic white and blue architecture did not disappoint. Awake Tours seamlessly guided us through the lively bars of Fira, where we indulged in the local spirits. The highlight, however, was the Santo Wines Experience, a beautiful spot where we had an evening sipping on the island's finest wines in the most stunning backdrop of the Aegean Sea - overlooking the volcano!
Santorini's topography, characterized by its volcanic origins, added a unique twist to the journey. The caldera views and the charming villages perched on the cliffs make Santorini a living postcard.
Next stop Mykonos: The crown jewel of the Cyclades. Awake Tours ensured our VIP treatment at the stunning Tropicana, strategically located for easy access to the island's best spots. The VIP table at Cavo Paradiso, the iconic Mykonos Town, and the vibrant Paradise Beach – every moment on this island felt like a scene from a movie. Mykonos, with its lively energy, was the perfect climax to our island-hopping adventure.
I honestly couldn't pick a favourite island as they all had something so different. Ios was the party island - think old-school travelling bars & a wild fun time featuring amazing beach views & djs every day. Santorini was stunning & provided a more elegant experience think food, wine & postcard-type views. Mykonos was high end partying, luxury shops & a maze of cobbled roads but also had the beach and hektik night parties and was much bigger than the other 2 islands & much busier also. They were all so perfect but so different, I felt as if I got every style of holiday in this one trip.

Accommodation is a challenge on these popular islands, especially during peak seasons. I was so glad this headache was taken care of as we had secured very, very nice & comfortable accom in prime locations. The placement of the accommodation was probably my favourite part! Honestly if you weren’t in the spots we were staying you’d need to walk everywhere ( hot tip this would take hours aha ) there are only like 20-30 taxis on most of these islands & they just do not arrive!

One of the most delightful surprises was the warmth of the locals. Greeks are known for their hospitality and it radiates on these islands. Whether it's a family-owned taverna serving up mouthwatering moussaka or a beach vendor offering the juiciest watermelon, every encounter feels like a warm embrace from an old friend or family member. And then there's the food. Oh, the food! Greek cuisine, with its emphasis on fresh ingredients and bold flavors - feasts were on the cards on the daily!
